Please join us Sunday, April 27 at 5pm on Zoom for our last seminar of the academic year. Sara Phenix, Associate Professor of French at Brigham Young University, will be discussing a chapter from her current book project, Bodice Politic: Corsets & the Future of France, which examines the political, medical, technological, and aesthetic importance of the corset in the popular imaginary of nineteenth- and early twentieth-century France.

The chapter, entitled “Savoir Fer: Iron Constructs in fin-de-siècle France,” is currently available on the password-protected Papers page of this website. Please contact a co-convener for this month’s password and a Zoom link for the meeting.
